COMMON RESIDENCY QUESTIONS
-
If you align yourself with Dykes but don’t necessarily call yourself one, you are welcome to apply for a residency. This means that if you’re part of queer community and identify as LBT, sapphic, FLINTA, femme, trans-masc/femme, intersex, lesbian, etc., you are welcome to apply.
If you’re straight there are plenty of other residencies available to you.
-
No, there is no written application. You will have a Zoom call or in-person visit with Juno, the founder and director of Dyke+ ArtHaus, to discuss all the details including what you’d like your residency to look like.
-
"Pay-what-you-can" asks you to consider what the residency is worth to you, acknowledge what your budget is, and donate accordingly.
Artists have paid anywhere from $25-100 for a weekend or $100-450 for a week, or coordinated a trade which might include fixing something at the Haus, doing some yard maintenance, or making a dinner or two.
Donations are asked to be paid prior to arriving or on your first day of residency.
-
